Our Wedding

Ryan and Laurin’s story began in college — with a little help from Bumble! What started as a swipe turned into something truly special. They quickly discovered how much they had in common, from shared values to a love of laughter, and officially started dating in August 2020. A funny twist of fate: both Ryan and Laurin attended Stephen F. Austin State University for their freshman year — just not at the same time! Even so, they both hold fond memories of the piney woods of East Texas, making it feel like their paths were always meant to cross eventually.

October 2019

After Ryan graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, his career took him all the way to Seattle, Washington. A year later, after Laurin graduated from the same school, she joined him there. Together, they spent two wonderful years exploring the Pacific Northwest — soaking in the scenery, enjoying the cool weather, and falling even more in love. Eventually, life brought them back home to the Dallas–Fort Worth area, though the pull of evergreen forests and crisp mountain air still tugs at their hearts.

June 2021

Fast forward to December 2024, during a Christmas vacation in Vail, Colorado — a snowy winter wonderland where Ryan completely surprised Laurin with a proposal. The moment became even more special when some of their loved ones were able to join in the celebration afterward. Now, surrounded by the people they love most, Ryan and Laurin can’t wait to start their next adventure as husband and wife!

Dress Code

What is your expected wedding attire?

Semi-formal. We encourage guests to dress stylish and celebratory. Think cocktail dresses, dressy tops, button-down shirts, and slacks!

Are my kids invited?

While we adore your little ones, we kindly ask that only the guests listed on your invitation attend. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax and fully enjoy the celebration!

WHEN SHOULD I  ARRIVE?

Please plan to arrive 20–30 minutes before the ceremony start time so you have time to park and get settled.Parking is available on-site at the venue.

Will there be food/drinks?

Dinner and drinks will be provided—come hungry and ready to celebrate!

Are there hotel blocks?

We have reserved a block of rooms in Waxahachie and Dallas. Please visit our Travel page for details.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony will be outdoors, so we recommend dressing comfortably for the weather. The reception will be in a covered area, with access to both indoor and outdoor spaces for dining and dancing! We'll be celebrating rain or shine!

Our wedding is taking place in the quiet countryside of Palmer, a small Texas town surrounded by beautiful open fields and peaceful scenic drives. If you have some extra time before or after the celebration, enjoy a relaxed drive through the area, stop by local parks, or unwind in the fresh air. For something fun and nostalgic, the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre is just a short drive away and offers classic movies under the stars. You can also enjoy a glass (or two!) at Sugar Ridge Winery, a cozy local spot great for a casual tasting.

If you’re into museums, check out the Dallas Museum of Art, Perot Museum of Nature &amp; Science, or the Sixth Floor Museum overlooking Dealey Plaza.For those who prefer outdoor time, the Dallas Arboretum &amp; Botanical Garden and Klyde Warren Park are beautiful, easy options for a relaxed outing.
